Linda Delormier
Secretary
Linda Delormier has been part of our Tiospaye’s Sun Dance for more than a decade – first learning from elders and keeping their sacred knowledge and then teaching the younger generation of women to participate in the ceremony. She is Tom and Loretta’s Hunka daughter and is dedicated to cultural preservation and healing.
A member of the Snipe Clan Kahnawake Mohawk Nation, Linda travels across the continent facilitating cultural workshops and meetings for various indigenous groups. Back home in Kahnawake, a Mohawk community in Quebec, Linda runs Tionhnhi:io or, “We Live Well,” a consulting firm that treats people’s past traumas using ancient healing techniques. She teaches the Mohawk language, and acts as a Mohawk voice coach and voice actor. Linda’s cultural workshops focus on community healing and building, and putting those values into community-led plans, as she’s done for her own community: MyKahnawake.com. She is also passionate about recognizing and maintaining the vital connections people have with land, air, and water, and believes access to and stewardship of ancestral lands is critical for Native people.
